Pediatric Speech/Language Pathologist

Job Description:
The Pediatric Speech/Language Pathologist, under the general supervision of the Pediatric Speech/Language Pathologist Lead and Site Manager evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and feeding/swallowing disorders while providing high quality and motivating therapeutic experience. The Speech/Language Pathologist must also meet goals and needs set forth by the patients and their families. Ensures development and proper education of patients and family in home programs. This position would be working in outreach at a school in the region and potentially the clinic setting at our Pediatric Therapy Services or Children’s Health Center location.
Job Requirements:

Current state Speech/Language Pathologist licensure, Clinic Certification of Competence or in the process of completing the Clinical Fellowship Year, and graduate of an accredited college or university with a certificate in Speech/Language Pathology.  Current BLS (CPR) certification or must attain within 90 days of employment.  Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills required.  Knowledge of speech/language pathology techniques, treatments, disorders, anatomy, and physiology.  Background knowledge in the treatment of language, articulation, phonology, apraxia, feeding difficulties, stuttering, and Alternative and Augmentative Communication. Ability to assist in the development of programs, procedures, policies, and protocols. A thorough knowledge of medical practice, dedication to patient satisfaction and an ability to work effectively with patients, physicians and other staff members. Must complete the required continuing education units (CEUs) for professional licensure within their professional guidelines/requirements prior to the deadline, and retain copies of the CEUs for each year. Must renew their professional license prior to the deadline, and submit proof of the application, as well as a paper copy, of the renewed license to the Site Manager in a timely manner.
